Starting out in the skincare industry at just 17, Sharon’s ambition and passion for skincare and innovation has led to her becoming one of the top female entrepreneurs in the UK and founder of a truly innovative global brand. Crystal Clear was the first company to introduce Microdermabrasion to the salon sector in 1995 and has now expanded to offer an extensive range of award-winning treatment and skincare products that are loved by thousands of customers and available in over 12,000 luxury salons worldwide.
What would you love to share to encourage other women to start their own business?
“If you’re launching a salon it’s so important to make sure you go with a credible brand that has a market presence and good reputation. Make sure to use tried and tested systems that actually work and give results, and a brand that can offer training and support is really helpful. We offer three different training courses including facial skincare & anatomy, facial skincare & product training and microdermabrasion, and we look to support our salons in all areas.”
What are your top tips for entrepreneurial success?
“I think one of the most important things is keeping your brand alive and moving with the times to launch new products and services, always looking ahead. Strong PR and marketing are also key to success, and our celebrity following has helped microdermabrasion become synonymous with Crystal Clear. It’s important to build a brand that consumers and clients can trust, for example our products speak for themselves and give real results with active clinical ingredients, quality is key”.
