Inspiring Female Founder Spotlight: Rachael Howourth

Rachael Howourth is an award-winning global sales & business mentor, and Founder of Her Infinite Abundance. Rachael offers her 25+ years of experience in sales, business and marketing to empower female entrepreneurs around the world to sell their products and services with ease, not sleaze and to create abundant lives on their terms where anything is possible. She is a staunch advocate that it is never too late to change your life and has helped thousands of people to do just that, by teaching them to step into their power and leverage their expertise to become wildly wealthy.

Can you tell us a little about your background and the company?

I started my career in a car dealership as a marketing assistant, where I built up my grassroots skills in client management, sales performance and business development before joining AutoTrader at 24 years old with an entry-level role in sales admin. Within just 12 months I had climbed the ranks to become Trade Sales Manager for the South West, eventually becoming UK Sales Director.

But it wasn’t all smooth sailing, as my son Oliver’s first birthday approached, I was summoned to a meeting which meant missing his first birthday party. I realised I was having to choose between my corporate career or my life, and something had to give.

So, in 2016, I left and took a step back to reflect on my next career step. After taking six months to recover from corporate burnout and trauma, and exploring a new role that wasn’t for me due to the toxicity of the workplace, I decided to go it alone, and I’ve never looked back!

Initially starting my entrepreneurial training consultancy for sales, service and leadership, and I became the ‘go to’ for soft skills and development training in the South West. From 2016 until 2020, I taught small businesses and high flying professionals how to sell, how to be a leader and master resilience and personal effectiveness.

Then in 2020 I set up My Sales Mentor, helping online businesses, specifically female entrepreneurs, how to monetise their skills and sell them. This rapidly grew and in 2022 I re-branded as Her Infinite Abundance to help elevate women to their next level by learning to sell with ease not sleaze, and to create abundant lives and businesses on their terms.

How did the idea come to you for the company?

I launched my online business, My Sales Mentor, to offer my 25+ years experience in sales, business and marketing to female entrepreneurs, which then evolved into Her Infinite Abundance in 2022. I now work with women all around the world, and my ‘easy not sleazy’ sales strategies have become recognised in the online space.

I love helping women to monetise their skills and fall in love with selling because let’s be honest, if you have a business but aren’t/ can’t sell then what you really have is an expensive, time-consuming hobby, and we don’t want that!

How did you achieve awareness?

I was able to create awareness pretty quickly because I’m a good networker and so I collaborated on lots of projects, like public speaking at events, launching my own podcast, building a Facebook Community Group and building my Instagram and LinkedIn audiences.

How have you been able to gain funding and grow?

My business has been self-funded from the get-go, meaning I’ve made decisions around re-investing the profits into things that would support the growth; this includes systems and tech as well as a high-level mentor and regular business retreats to expand my learning as fast as possible.

What are the key successes?

Something I feel incredibly proud of is helping my clients make over 2 million dollars in 2022. My success is intrinsically linked to my clients’ success – they come to me to grow their business and that’s exactly what I measure my own results against.

Client results include helping Laura to create a £12,000 launch for her group program, helping Sophie sell 64 online courses in a month (her previous months had been 12) and helping Ashleigh enrol her first membership group with over 50 members.

What were/are the challenges and how have you overcome these?

Every day in business is a school day, so there’s always things to learn.

I’ve experienced challenges with my team and had to re-hire for some key roles, which I overcame by using a hiring model that highlights strengths and moved us from hiring generalists to hiring specialists.

Something else that felt pretty challenging, was needing to migrate our online courses from one platform to another.  This was driven by wanting a streamlined client journey when our students enrol in our programs, so it was easier to navigate around the course and get the best results.

What are your plans now/for the future?

Ooh my plans are big, and I’d be lying if I didn’t admit that I wonder sometimes if they are too big, but I know in my heart that women have such incredible talents to share and they really want to do that by growing a business, but feel hindered by not knowing the right path to take.

I’m planning to keep growing Her Infinite Abundance so I can impact 100,000 women.  I’ll do this by inviting more women to join the Infinite Abundance Mastermind, for women who want to scale to six-figure years, and my Sprint Coaching Certification, for Coaches who want to create a world-class group coaching program.

Collaborating with other women will always be part of my plans, and scaling up the Live Events side of the business is definitely high up the list, opening this out to Spa Days and Retreats.

What would you like to share with others to encourage them to start their own entrepreneurship journey?

Do it before you’re ready.  It’ll always feel a bit scary, but embrace it and accept there’ll be learning along the way.

There’s a question I’m asked often about whether women can really have it all… and I want to say that they CAN.  But first, they must decide what having it all really looks like for them.  If you want to build a business, build a life that excites you every single day, it’s totally possible.  Infinite abundance is not just the business name, it’s a mindset.

Can you share your top tips for entrepreneurial success?

Trust your instinct – this has always served me well

Surround yourself with the right people – people who energise and champion you

Commitment usually beats capability – have tunnel-vision on your goal

Fall in love with sales and know your numbers – this is the lifeblood of the business

Make your clients feel the most important people in your world

Look after your most valuable resources – time, talent and team

Who are the 5 people who inspire you the most and why?

I’m inspired and motivated by the future version of me… I’ll never be her, because the aspiration will always move, but I try every single day.

My son inspires me, he’s only 9 and is my driving force.

And anyone who’s overcome adversity and challenge in their life inspires me.

What are your favourite inspirational /motivational quotes?

Control the controllables – if you can’t control it, let it go, and if you can, make a plan and go and get it done!
