IWD Inspirational Female Founder Spotlight: Georgina Green

Georgina Green has an inspiring story and recently set up a revolutionary new app BeeZee, which aims to revive and revitalise local high streets, and help independent retailers survive mounting economic pressures, all while being a mother of two boisterous boys, and with a third baby on the way!  With all top positions of her business being held by women, she wants to motivate other women to set-up their own businesses and set an example.

What would you like to share to encourage other women to start their own business?

“Women have been, and still are, disproportionately represented in businesses, and more specifically tech companies. In 2010 85% of high tech was male. Now in 2021 women only make up 30% of high tech, and of those 30% only 5% have executive positions. Although this is much better than a decade ago, we still have a long way to go. I want to continue to challenge the phenomenon of the ‘glass ceiling’ and push other women to dispute their position in business.”

What are your 5 top tips for entrepreneurial success?

1. Failure is the first step to success
2. Don’t be scared
3. Listen to your customers
4 Don’t settle/never get too comfortable
5. Keep asking questions

Who are some women who inspire you the most?

Jacinda Arden

Golda Meir

Nikki Hayley – former foreign secretary of the US

Mulan from the movie Mulan

What are your favourite sayings/inspirational quotes?

Two quotes I love from Golda Meir the first female Ori minister of Israel:

“Don’t be humble you’re not that great …”

“Whether women are better than men I cannot say – but I can say they are certainly no worse.”
