Pippa is a qualified Nutritionist, Eating Psychology Coach and Exercise Expert. Combining 25+ years’ of healthy living experience, from publishing at the top fitness and lifestyle magazines in Europe, to establishing The Weight Loss Guru 13 years ago, spending over 43,000 hours as a nutrition expert, Pippa is still just getting started.

Can you tell us a little about your background and the company? I’m a qualified Nutritionist, Eating Psychology Coach and Exercise Expert since 2010. The Weight Loss Guru was launched 3 years ago, and the business has now quadrupled ever since lockdown.

How did the idea come to you for the company? The company came about as my mission is to save as many people as possible from being unhealthy, overweight and supporting the nation in their health journey asthere is 75% of diabetes in the western world which is a massive health issue.

How did you achieve awareness? Organic growth through my website, word of mouth/referrals and reviews from my clients who are all over the world.

How have you been able to gain funding and grow? I haven’t had any funding – I’m a single mum with 3 kids.

What are the key successes? Passion, commitment, motivation and weekly updates and chats with my clients to help them on their journey, giving them the support and encouragement they need, 7 days a week. I never stop!

I went into this profession as I know the most important thing in the world is happiness. Coming from a personal background where my whole family have struggled with mental illnesses and my mother dying of cancer, and I am here to help as many people as I possibly can to provide happiness.

What were/are the challenges and how have you overcome these? It was just me running my business and I was doing 100 hours a week and I see 70 clients a week on zoom. I now have a PA and PR and the challenge is when you’re on your own, it can be tricky not to get burn out, but I love my job and I have given everything to my business.

What are your plans now/for the future? I’m going for investment to grow the business so there can be more people like me helping others, so I’m able to expand The Weight Loss Guru. I’ve just launched my debut book, Reclaim Your Life, which became #No.1 bestseller on Amazon under the categories for Weight Loss and Nutrition & Diets. 1-in-4 school children are seen as obese today, and I really want to help the obesity crisis. I’ve launched a charity called Beat Obesity Daily to help the fight against obesity.

I’m working towards the future of the business where I would love to take my business to be development into an app, to continue helping as many people as possible with any even further reach.

What would you like to share with others to encourage them to start their own entrepreneurship journey? Just do it! I’m 56 years old, I’ve been divorced, I’m a mum of 3 and I’ve believed in myself and my business. There’s nothing more beautiful in the world than having your own business you’ve built up after a long slog, working 100 hours a week, and being able to see the results from my clients and continuing to help others by giving back to the world.

Can you share your top tips for entrepreneurial success? Believe in yourself, be knowledgeable about your subject/passion and work extremely hard. Do a lot of social media, make sure your website is good and you have lots of reviews that are being updated constantly.

Who are the 5 people who inspire you the most and why? Evgenia Kara-Murza – the strength and bravery of this woman is inspirational. Mahsa Amini, Angela Merkel, Bill Gates and Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe, whose resilience knows no boundaries!
