What would you love to share to encourage other women to start their own business?

For any women wanting to start their own company my advice is to just go for it. It’s so easy to get consumed in what other people are doing and to compare your journey to theirs, feeling like they may be further on or more capable of doing the exact thing you want to do. But it’s important to limit how much you compare yourself to strangers on the internet, remember that they’re just sharing their highlight reel and there is space for everyone in the world to live out their dreams. Just get started, be consistent every single day and know that small progress is better than no progress.

What are your top 5 tips for entrepreneurial success?

Be consistent – chances are it will take you longer than you think to achieve your goals, but consistently showing up will eventually pay off.

Find your tribe – Running your own business can be lonely, lonelier than people realise so it’s important to find a community of people that will have your back.

Don’t compare – comparing yourself to others is an insult to who you are.

Be authentic – be you, unapologetically. You’ve heard the saying, there’s only one you and that is your power, it’s true. Be authentic, share your quirks and personality with the world without a filter. People buy from people and more than ever everyone wants authenticity.

Celebrate your wins – you will always have a new goal to focus on but make sure you take time out to celebrate your wins along the way.

Who are the 5 women who inspire you the most?

Oprah because she is empowering and has always stayed true to herself.

My mum because she doesn’t care what people think of her and isn’t afraid to be herself. No caring what others think of you is the ultimate freedom.

Beyonce because when she decided to manage her own career instead of letting her dad continue to do so, she was really stepping in to her own and showing the world that women can be strong and independent.

Maya Angelou who was a civil rights activist poet and award-winning author known for her acclaimed 1969 memoir ‘I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings’ and her numerous poetry and essay collections. Her story is one of he most inspiring I have ever read.

Serena Williams for her work outside of tennis, she campaigns for equal rights and we need more people like that in the world.

What is your favourite saying/inspirational quote?

“You can’t make a comeback if you haven’t been anywhere”

This was relevant for me after my first company failed and I was made bankrupt. I went away, worked on myself and my ideas and I came back stronger than ever.
