Fast forward, and she’s now running a thriving company, recognised for its transformative sales training and no-fluff, high-impact approach to business growth. Enfys is a five-time award winner, speaker, bestselling co-author, and creator of the Golden Peacock Awards. Based in Snowdonia, she spends her free time marathon training, braving icy river swims, and keeping up with her two wild and wonderful daughters.

Can you tell us a little about your background and your company?
Absolutely! I’m Enfys Maloney, a multi-award-winning entrepreneur, sales expert, and best-selling author. My business journey began four years ago during the pandemic when I lost my travel business overnight due to the global travel ban. Instead of giving up, I pivoted and built a sales training brand from scratch.

Now, I help service-based business owners make more sales—more comfortably and more often. Through my flagship programs and in-person events—The Success Vault, Vibrant Connections, and Elevate Circle—I equip small business owners with the strategy, confidence, and community they need to make great sales.

I also host The End of Year Extravaganza, a powerhouse business event featuring The Golden Peacock Awards, celebrating entrepreneurial achievements. It’s a space for ambitious entrepreneurs to connect, learn, and be celebrated!

What inspired you to start your business?
Losing my travel business in 2020 was a massive turning point. I realised that while so many entrepreneurs were passionate about what they did, they struggled with sales—and I knew I could help. Sales had always been my strength, and I wanted to prove that selling doesn’t have to feel awkward or pushy. It can be natural, empowering, and even fun! That’s what led me to create my sales training business, focusing on simple, effective strategies that feel good and actually work.

How did you create awareness for your brand?
In the early days, this was everything, and I fully committed to showing up for what I was building. I grew my brand through a mix of authenticity, visibility, and community. I openly shared my journey and expertise on social media, blending strategy with personality. I networked, collaborated with other business owners, and consistently focused on delivering real value (which I still do!).

Brand building and retention have been key. I didn’t just aim to get noticed—I worked to keep people engaged. My events, from free online sessions to high-impact in-person experiences, created a ripple effect—once people experienced my work, they stuck around.

I also borrowed audiences. I asked myself, Who could I interview? Where could I create quality content? I reached out, offered free sales training in other people’s groups, and shared valuable insights. It positioned me as the go-to expert, expanded my reach, and generated sales. Win-win!

What strategies helped you secure funding and scale your business?
It’s a catch-22 when you’re starting out—you need to invest to grow, but you need to grow to invest. So, in the beginning, I was savvy. I invested £95 in a headshot and about £180 in a logo, and I did a LOT myself. I went all in on learning—absorbing everything I could from free challenges and expert content. That first year, I learned something new almost every day. I was committed. (Thankfully, the pressure has eased now—but in those early days, it took serious grit and perseverance!).

By year two, I was done doing everything solo. I knew I needed a coach, so I borrowed £6k—and the impact was almost immediate. The ROI was incredible, and that investment changed everything. Now, I trust myself to make smart investments and always do the work to get an ROI—and then some!

Beyond that, I focused on creating profitable revenue streams from day one. High-value offers, strategic launches, and community-driven sales strategies helped me scale sustainably—and that approach continues to pay off.

What have been your biggest successes so far?
I have two really. The impact my work has had on my many clients who have achieved their best-ever months and years in sales. Seeing them take the stage at awards and also hitting many personal milestones myself. Becoming a five-time award-winning entrepreneur in my first three years was such a confidence boost. Great for visibility and credibility too—but for me, having that external validation was a real boost. Another huge milestone was hitting the VAT threshold in year two and my first six-figure close soon after. Moving to Wales and welcoming my husband into the business has been utterly life-changing.

What challenges have you faced, and how did you overcome them?
Let’s be honest—there’s always a challenge when you’re running a business, and they evolve as you scale. No matter what Instagram might suggest, it’s not always easy!

Losing my travel business was a tough blow, and starting over was unbelievably daunting. I had to build credibility in a new industry, shift my mindset, and start from scratch—when I didn’t feel ready. The key? Resilience, adaptability, and staying focused on serving my audience.

Also—my underlying self-belief that I CAN DO THIS has served me well. I’ve made it a priority to surround myself with the right mentors and communities—because entrepreneurship isn’t meant to be done alone.

What are your plans for the future?
I’m scaling my programs and creating more opportunities for entrepreneurs to grow their businesses. I’m also focusing on making a bigger impact through events, speaking engagements, high-level mentorship, and—for the first time—building my brand intentionally through PR.

In 2025, I’ll be dialling down my own travel commitments while expanding the reach of my business. A key focus for me is growing my online networking membership, Vibrant Connections—it’s such a joy to host, and the impact it has on my members is unbelievable. It’s a low-cost, high-impact space that’s accessible to all—something I’m deeply passionate about.

What advice would you give to aspiring female entrepreneurs?
Simple: Believe in your ability to create the life and business you want. Success is available to anyone who chooses to pursue it.

And the key? Sales skills. You won’t get anywhere if you can’t sell—no matter how good your offer is. Sales skills are life skills—learn them, invest in them, stay ahead in the game, and you’ll always have control over your income.

Surround yourself with people who uplift and challenge you to AIM HIGH. And most importantly, don’t wait until you feel “ready”—take action now.

Yes, you can do this! Go for it, and don’t hold back!

What are your top three tips for entrepreneurial success?

  1. Master sales and marketing – They’re the heartbeat of any business. The more comfortable you are with selling, the faster you’ll grow—and the more wonderful clients you’ll get to work with.
  2. Prioritise real relationships – Business is built on genuine connection. Your network and community hold the keys to your next opportunities—help others, and that support will come back to you. The law of reciprocity is REAL!
  3. Build a personal brand – Be you and show up authentically. Your next clients don’t need just anyone’s help—they need yours, in your way. Stand out. Build a brand known for both your results and unique style—that’s what makes you unforgettable. Plus, your personal brand is a powerful driver of client attraction.

Who inspires you the most, and why?

Actually, there’s really just one person I’d like to mention today—my grandmother. She founded Portmeirion Pottery in 1960, transforming what started as a small souvenir idea into a global brand that now turns over around £90 million a year. Her vision, creativity, and resilience inspire me every single day. She wasn’t just building a business—she was building a legacy.

And she did it all without the internet, at a time when women-in-business was barely a thing! That, to me, is absolutely mind-blowing. I often think about the boldness it took for her to create her business.

As a side note, this is exactly why I run my own Sales Strategy Retreat in Portmeirion Village. This iconic destination is home to me, and I can’t think of a better place to hold my wild and luxurious retreat!
