What would you love to share to encourage other women to start their own business?
Look to those women (and men) you admire who have taken the risks to get us to where we are today for inspiration and strength – read their books and listen to them speak. Believe in yourself and get up every day with the drive to do it. There will be many bumps in the road but you just have to dust yourself off and surround yourself with people who believe in you. Become the person that others will look to for help and advice in the future.
What are your top tips for entrepreneurial success?
Be bold
Spot opportunities and take them
Take a risk – a very successful inspiring woman once told me “what’s the riskiest thing you can do – do that. You can always go back to doing what you did before.”
Ask for help. SO many people want to give back, as they know they were helped too.
Surround yourself with smart people, learn new things every day and use your network
Who are the 5 women who inspire you the most ?
Every single female founder inspires me. I’ve just been on a programme specifically designed for female founders by Barclays Techstars and met so many amazing people doing brilliant things. My mother – who is one of the most amazing, resilient women I’ve ever met.
And my daughter – who inspires me to be better every day . And if I have to pick… I’d add Oprah Winfrey, Michelle Obama and Shonda Rhimes.
