What would you love to share to encourage other women to start their own business?

“As a champion of women in business, I am passionate about encouraging other women to start their own companies. Getting the right balance and working in a job that ticks all the boxes can feel out of reach, but it is possible to run your own business and have the flexibility that many women want. The corporate nine-to-five role isn’t the only way to work. The right mindset can help women create the work-life balance they crave, by running their own business.”

What are your 5 top tips for entrepreneurial success?

Do your research. Know your competition and your market.

Just get on with it. Doing something is better than nothing.

Be consistent. In your branding, your social media, your tone of voice, your message, everything. Being consistent helps you become more memorable and more effective.

Don’t worry if something goes wrong. Don’t beat yourself up about it. Learn from it and move on.

Enjoy it! As a business owner, it can be so easy to get bogged down in the day-to-day difficulties of running your own business. But it can also be the best job in the world, giving you flexibility and freedom. Remember your ‘why’ you started your business in the first place, and enjoy the journey.

Who are the 5 women who inspire you the most?

My mother

Karren Brady

Michelle Obama

Mel Robbins

Erica Davies

What is your favourite saying/inspirational quote?

My mum told me to ‘Keep your eyes on the prize’ and I think it’s the best piece of advice I ever received, particularly when it comes to juggling the work/family balance. My business has grown massively over the past 10 years and that’s been a great journey, but they have been manic times too. I’ve always tried to remember why I started the business in the first place – to work flexibly around my family and ensure that I take time out when needed to spend time with my girls before they are all grown up.
