What would you love to share to encourage other women to start their own business?

If you’re thinking about starting a business, don’t think about it for too long. Make the decision and go for it. Instinct is good but get advice from people who are not your friends and family, and will not be afraid to give you honest feedback. If you can, prepare your finances so that you know what lies ahead. If you think it’s going to be easy, don’t start it in the first place. Business owners work really, really hard and nothing is easy. It’s a physical and mental rollercoaster – you need to be thick skinned and resilient. Fortune favours the bold and the brave, so don’t regret anything. Just learn and, if you can, enjoy the journey. And always try to surround yourself with people who are better than you.

What are your top tips for entrepreneurial success ?

Be brave and believe in yourself.

It’s okay to fail but fail fast and fail cheap. Make sure you learn from it and give yourself a break, you’re only human.

Every day is a school day for me and I always learn something new.

Try and challenge yourself and face your fears, whatever they are it’s not as scary when you have done them a couple of times.

Don’t talk about doing, just do.

Who are the five women who inspire you the most?

There are so many this is really difficult. I’d got for:

Karren Brady –  overall business leader.

Pippa Murray of Pip & Nut – she’s from my sector and makes great peanut butter.

Fiona McNeil – life coach and leadership mentor who tells me how it is.

Michelle Obama – I love listening to her talks, she offers really positive reinforcement for young girls and women.

Emily Peter – my five-year-old granddaughter. I see a whole life ahead of her and am inspired to do more for her.

What is your favourite saying/inspirational quote?

I have two:

“Do what think is right: don’t ask permission and if you need to say sorry afterwards, do it, but own it.”

“Tomorrow is another day and we will do better”
