Hello, I am Tracy Richardson, I don’t like labels, though I am a Therapist (MSc), Wellness Alchemist®, and Author and founder of Serendipity Wellness® (www.serendipitywellness.co.uk). I work with many women, mainly aged from 40+, that are all feeling overworked, overwhelmed and on that rollercoaster of life, with faulty brakes. I introduce them to a different approach, the need to slow down right NOW, and how they can work with the body’s innate systems for replenishment, rejuvenation and restoration.
Can you tell us a little about your background and the company?
Serendipity Wellness® views wellness through both a scientific and a spiritual lens, and holds a unique modern approach that encompasses the whole person. Tracy has developed Wellness Alchemy®, a transformative pathway to wellness, that blends ancient wisdom and modern practices into a holistic process to bring about improved wellness- whatever that looks like to you.
How did the idea come to you for the company?
Due to the number of clients that were women and presenting with similar concerns, cares and challenges when it came to their wellness and the influence upon their life and business performance.
How did you achieve awareness?
Honestly I’m not sure that I have or ever will, though I eel that doing my best in any given situation helps. Additionally when an opportunity arises, I generally say ‘yes’ and then figure out how to work it for the nets outcome.
How have you been able to gain funding and grow?
By investing back into my business. There’s been no private funding to date, though in the beginning credit cards did help.
What are the key successes?
Integrity- I have a moral code of ‘always do your best’, it’s simple but effective, when it comes to self care and wellness, I take it seriously. I think my clients appreciate this, or at least they don’t say otherwise.
Gratitude- This is something that when I realised and started practising daily actually changed my life. I began to say thank you and notice things to be grateful for everywhere. I’m not saying I am positive all the time, but it has allowed me to live with a mindset of having everything I need.
Optimistic- I am ever the optimist, mostly I can see the silver lining to things and I genuinely expect good things to happen.
What were/are the challenges and how have you overcome these?
Slowing down and realising that I do have time- it’s just whether the ‘thing’ is a priority to me. It has been the best decision to date, consciously slowing down and being in the moment, rather than racing to the next thing on the to do list. I schedule in time so that I can’t overbook myself.
What are your plans now/for the future?
Bringing Wellness Alchemy® process to
What would you like to share with others to encourage them to start their own entrepreneurship journey?
If you have an idea, tests it by asking people that would likely be in the market for your service/product/solution.
Can you share your top tips for entrepreneurial success?
79% of UK employees experience burnout, 1 in 5 struggle to manage stress at work, and ‘presenteeism’ costing £28 billion in 2023, life isn’t just about meeting deadlines and going through the motions, it’s about turning up for yourself to make a better contribution. You can’t do that if you are hustling all the time. So slowing down, taking care of your own needs and outsourcing where possible would be my top tips.
Who are the 5 people who inspire you the most and why?
My mum and Dad- They’ve been together forever and whatever challenges they face, they still manage to smile.
Dr. Jack Kruse- he is a maverick in the health and wellness world.
Rick Rubin- I love his take on life.
Dr. Bruce Lipton- A trailblazer in the field of cellular function.
What are your favourite inspirational /motivational quotes?
‘People make choices’ this is from my mum.
As an advocate for whole person wellness, I know more than most that our choices can significantly affect our wellness outcomes and that they do have consequences.
