Natasha McCrea is the founder of Love CEO Institute. She is a Speaker, Actress, Director and love and relationship coach who guides women into being the best version of themselves so they can attract what their heart desires and design the life they really want.
Can you tell us a little about your background and the company?
I grew up in San Jose, Ca. When I was 15 years old I found out I had twin brother’s from an affair my dad had and it shifted my perception of Love and Relationships. I found myself looking for love and not trusting anyone at the same time. It was a painful time during my life and I began to attract the wrong kind of relationships. I was pregnant and married at 18 and had a baby one month before my 19th birthday. I was divorced by 23, married again by 26, and divorced again by 30.
Shortly after my second divorce I began therapy and uncovered that I was a Love Addict with low self-esteem. It was difficult to look in the mirror during that time but I did it, because I knew I wanted to stop the cycle. The fear of rejection was staggering at times, but with therapy I began to live again.
Years later after getting a degree in Psychology I created, Love CEO Institute. It’s a place for self-love support that I so desperately needed in my formative years of life. We activate radical self-love, get unstuck, boost confidence, connect to our authentic goals, and develop a self-care lifestyle so we can design the life we want with grace and ease.
How did the idea come to you for the company?
In 2012, I produced a tour of my one-woman show, Evolution of a Love Addict. The show is a sneak peek into the mind of a serial dating divorcee on her quest to find real love. Most plays schedule an audience Q & A. So I decided to do the same. On those nights I sat in a single red chair on a red carpet on stage alone, after bearing my soul, to answer questions about how I did it all.
The audience asked questions like: “How do I love again?” “How can I forgive my family?” “How do you move on past the hurt?” “How do you love again after going through such a painful divorce?” I would also spend hours late at night responding to every single email I received after my shows.
I told everyone who would listen how I found myself again and how peace and love became a lifestyle for me. So I decided to take all of my knowledge and create an online community with courses, coaching and memberships to help women stay connected to themselves, build genuine confidence, connect to their feminine power and so much more. This community became known as Love CEO Institute.
How did you achieve awareness?
Awareness came from public speaking, social media marketing, and my one woman show.
How have you been able to gain funding and grow?
Love CEO Institute was self-funded. At the time I started the company I had a full-time job. And the first couple of years I put all the revenue back into the company. Knowing what I know now I would get outside funding.
What are the key successes?
The key to success is to never give up when times get tough. 50% of women owned companies, never make it past year 5. If something isn’t working, you have to be willing to pivot instead of throwing in the towel.
What were/are the challenges and how have you overcome these?
My biggest challenge is planning ahead. I am multi-passionate and very intuitive. I get a lot of ideas all the time. I have to harness these ideas to maintain a level of focus that gives my business a chance to grow.
Hiring a team has helped me with accountability, developing a plan, as well as delegating so I can focus on creating.
What are your plans now/for the future?
Love CEO Institute now has a membership community which makes coaching a lot more accessible to more women. We recently had the soft launch of helloloveboutiques.com that is curated with products to help you in your daily practice of keeping your love energy high.
I honor myself and accept that I am multi-passonate. So there’s alot I have going on. I’m in the 3rd season for a podcast I co-host called My HOElistic Life. I’m launching a Whiskey brand that will hit the market Fall 2022. I’m in post production for a documentary I directed called “Potlikker”
