Domenica Di Lieto is the founder and CEO of Europe’s largest Chinese marketing consultancy. Her background includes a successful career in print media and was an early adopter of commercial digital communication, which included the successful development and sale of a digital marketing agency. Following this, she has been at the forefront of pioneering strategy and creativity in Chinese marketing, and in doing so led Emerging Communications to become the most influential European based Chinese consultancy. It also has offices in Shanghai.

Have conviction, work to your strengths, and delegate what you are not good at. You know what you will do best to make a company successful, so concentrate on that. If you don’t you are wasted as a resource, and lose focus on the big picture.
What are your top tips 5 tips for entrepreneurial success?
Surround yourself with positive people that have a lot of energy. Collectively they will generate a positive force that inspires everyone, including the leader.
Be resilient, don’t quit. All entrepreneurs come to a stage when it seems impossible to carry on. For some, it happens many times. This is the point when you have to be at your strongest and best, and why success is all the more enjoyable when it comes.
Find someone you can trust to look after finances. Money is really important but will take up too much time to concentrate on properly yourself. So get an accountant or FD who knows what they are doing, and let them take care of it.
Pay attention to physical and spiritual health. Being on top of your own game provides the best chance of being on top of business. Find what works to keep in physical and mental shape – running, HIIT training, yoga, meditation, whatever it is that is effective to stay tuned. Be disciplined. It will make a big difference.
Don’t be afraid to take risks. Not everything will work, but being too cautious will lead to inertia, so risk-taking is essential within sensible boundaries.
