Can you tell us a little about your background and your company?
Before transitioning into the world of hypnotherapy, I co-founded and ran two successful startup businesses; a marketing agency and a short-let property business. Having worked in marketing for over 15 years, I developed a crucial foundation for nurturing client relationships and building brands – along with a great network of contacts which was pivotal in co-founding and running my own business ventures. As a founder, this gave me firsthand insight into the pressures business leaders face, from high-performance demands and decision fatigue to imposter syndrome and subconscious barriers to success.
Whilst juggling the two businesses alongside being a single mum, I was suffering from burnout and overwhelm. I knew I had to take stock of my direction and path. I’d been on a decade-long journey of self-discovery following a spinal injury and this had introduced me to the power of the mind, how to access it and rewire it to overcome my physiological setbacks. I decided to throw myself into this deep learning and retrain as a Clinical Hypnotherapist. I founded Anna Lancaster Therapy after completing my training and haven’t looked back.
As a Clinical Hypnotherapist and certified Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT®) Practitioner, I specialise in reprogramming the subconscious mind to unlock peak performance, resilience, and success. From my London based practice in Chelsea, I’ve built up an international client base—including CEOs, entrepreneurs, creatives, and public figures—helping them break free from limiting beliefs and behavioural patterns that hold them back. My background and experience as a founder allows me to approach mindset work with a deep understanding of the entrepreneurial and executive mindset, bridging personal transformation with business performance.
By combining science-backed subconscious reprogramming with high-performance coaching, my mission is to help individuals, business leaders, and teams master their minds, overcome self-imposed limitations, and achieve transformative success.
Beyond my client based work, I’ve expanded my impact through keynote speaking and corporate engagements, delivering talks at global organisations like Airbnb, Aveda, and Channel 4, as well as through media features in Tatler, Elle, City AM, and BBC News. I also collaborate with leading wellness and aesthetics brands and serve as a faculty member at the John Locke Institute, where I teach mindset and mental resilience.
What inspired you to start your business?
My journey into hypnotherapy was deeply personal. After suffering a life-threatening spinal injury, I was forced to pause and reconnect with myself. During this decade-long journey, I discovered the mind’s extraordinary ability to heal and rewire itself. Witnessing firsthand the power of neuroplasticity and subconscious reprogramming, I became passionate about helping others unlock this potential in their own lives. Founding Anna Lancaster Therapy was a natural evolution for me, and I wanted to create a practice that bridges science and holistic healing to deliver rapid, profound, and lasting change.
How did you create awareness for your brand?
In the beginning, I relied solely on word-of-mouth referrals from clients who’d experienced powerful transformations. Because many were high-level business leaders or public figures, their trust and advocacy of my work led to organic growth. This was and still is effective but doesn’t go far enough as a sustainable marketing strategy.
Building my brand though social media platforms, Instagram and LinkedIn, has been key as a marketing tool and shop window for the work I do. Authenticity is so important within this industry, so I find sharing client testimonials builds the most powerful engagement.
I’ve also worked hard to tap into my network and form strategic partnerships within the luxury wellness space to help build my credibility and profile. I teamed up with brands such as W-Wellness, 111 Skin and the sleep and relaxation app, Stil, where I feature as its resident hypnotherapist. I regularly feature as a keynote speaker at wellness industry events. I also lecture at John Locke Institute at Oxford and Princeton Universities, where I lecture students on mindset, meditation and mental wellness. I’m passionate about helping young minds.
Along the way, I’ve been lucky enough to attract the attention of press – many of whom I’ve met through my talks at events. Features in publications such as Tatler, Elle, and City AM have been great for building brand awareness. Being recommended by Tatler as one of its trusted A-list advisors was a particular highlight and helped in positioning my authority as a leader in mental longevity and high-performance mind coaching.
What strategies helped you secure funding and scale your business?
My business has been entirely self-funded and grown through reinvestment Rather than seeking traditional funding, I focused on scalability through digital offerings, such as personalised hypnosis audios, remote RTT® sessions, and collaborations with wellness tech brands like Stil (a sleep and relaxation app). This allowed me to expand my impact while maintaining a high level of exclusivity for private clients.
What have been your biggest successes so far?
I’d say my biggest success to date is the impact my work has on my clients’ lives. Seeing someone break free from years of self-doubt, anxiety, or performance blocks in just a few sessions is incredibly rewarding and reminds me of why I got into this business. You can’t put a price on that.
Beyond that, elevating my personal brand and profile through sheer graft and pester-power. In the early days, when I was new to the industry, I knocked on doors of everyone I know to help get started. These days I’m fortunate to have been invited to speak at events such as Airbnb’s Communications Annual Conference, Aveda HQ and Channel 4 Wellness Week. So, I’ve been able to share the power of subconscious reprogramming, resilience, and performance mastery on a much wider scale. These platforms allow me to reach thousands of people, offering transformative insights that extend beyond private sessions and into the corporate and public sphere.
What challenges have you faced, and how did you overcome them?
One of the biggest challenges has been shifting public perception around hypnotherapy. Many people still associate it with ‘stage hypnosis’ or quick fixes rather than understanding its profound, science-backed ability to rewire the brain. So, educating clients on the intersection of neuroscience and subconscious therapy has been key in overcoming this.
On a personal level, pivoting from a successful career in marketing and property into the world of hypnotherapy required a complete mindset shift. Moving into an industry that was deeply personal and purpose-driven meant navigating self-doubt, imposter syndrome, and stepping into a completely new identity. I had to practice what I preach—rewiring my own subconscious beliefs around success, reinvention, and trusting the process.
Another major challenge was building my reputation from point zero in an incredibly saturated market. Unlike other industries where I had existing credibility, I was entering a space where no one knew me. Standing out meant being intentional with my brand, consistently demonstrating the power of my work, and positioning myself as a thought leader in the field. Through resilience, strategic visibility, and a results-driven approach, I’ve been able to carve out my own space, establish authority, and now work with some of the world’s top brands and high-profile clients.
This experience has only reinforced my belief in the mind’s ability to shape our reality and has allowed me to guide others through their own transformations with deeper empathy and understanding.
What are your plans for the future?
I’m currently focussed on launching my new longevity boosting programme, RTT360 Life Overhaul. It’s an innovative hypnosis programme that addresses the mental, emotional and physiological factors that impact ageing at a cellular level. Longevity science is a huge area of interest for my clients, so this is a natural evolution for my practice.
I’m also exploring AI-driven wellness tools to personalise subconscious reprogramming at scale, making these transformative techniques more widely accessible.
Additionally, I’m working on a book that distils my approach into a practical guide for mental longevity and high-performance living. I want to empower even more people to unlock their full potential through the power of the mind.
What advice would you give to aspiring female entrepreneurs?
- Own your unique expertise. In a world that often undervalues intuition and emotional intelligence, trust that your perspective is valuable.
- Focus on transformation, not transaction. When you create real impact, your business will grow naturally.
- Invest in your own mindset. You can have the best strategy in the world, but if subconscious fears and limiting beliefs are running the show, you’ll keep hitting the same blocks.
What are your top three tips for entrepreneurial success?
- Master your mind. Your subconscious beliefs dictate 95% of your decisions—so rewire them for success.
- Build a brand, not just a business. People buy into who you are, not just what you do.
- Embrace adaptability. The most successful entrepreneurs are those who can pivot without fear.
