We caught up with Sarah to learn more about her entrepreneurship journey.

Can you tell us a little about your background and the company?

We are LDN MUMS FITNESS! We are here because we want to transform the way mums and mums-to-be feel about health and wellness, and show them that being fit for all of life’s challenges is attainable and in many cases just needs a slight adjustment of mindset. We were founded in London in 2016 (as MUM FIT LDN), and continue to grow in our reach and ambitions. Since we’re mums too, we know all too well the juggling act of motherhood and do our best to accommodate you in our Personal TrainingGroup Training or On-Demand Training streams – whichever suits you best – or combine the three! We can’t wait to meet you and help you make that change towards a new, healthier you!

How did the idea come to you for the company?

Sarah has experienced first-hand the benefits of keeping fit and active until the last stages of the pregnancy journey and emphatically believes that with the correct support, mums can feel energised and empowered throughout this life-changing and truly amazing experience. Now as a busy London mum, she has found that maintaining her health and fitness through HIIT (high-intensity interval training) workouts and well-balanced nutrition, has enabled her to stay physically and mentally strong for all of life’s new challenges. Sarah realised the lack of information available about maintaining exercising whilst pregnant in terms of what you can and can’t do. Sarah also realised the lack of support for women postpartum in terms of getting back into moving with confidence. It is from this that LDN MUMS FITNESS was founded. We are here because we want to transform the way mums and mums-to-be feel about health and wellness, and show them that being fit for all of life’s challenges is attainable and in many cases just needs a slight adjustment of mindset. Since we’re mums too, we know all too well the juggling act of motherhood and do our best to accommodate you in our Personal TrainingGroup Training or On-Demand Training streams – whichever suits you best – or combine the three! We can’t wait to meet you and help you make that change towards a new, healthier you!

How did you achieve awareness?

Practicing what I preach. Showing up consistently every single day for myself, my family and the LDN MUMS FITNESS global community. Supporting, encouraging and empowering women to move with a purpose and with confidence. Showing up in-person and across all social platform.

What are the key successes?

Consistency. Determination. Passion. An open mind. Flexibility. Intention. Belief.

What were/are the challenges and how have you overcome these?

Having a negative mindset. It is self-defeating and it steals us of energy that could be put to better use. Negative thinking can stop you from making progress. This mindset needs to be taken control of and shifted to a positive one.

Losing focus of your goals. Revert back to your plan, remember your why and return to your path.

Being ruled by fear and other people’s opinions. If we all took into consideration other people’s thoughts and feelings we wouldn’t follow our dream and we would look track of our vision. Being in the unknown can lead us to be curious, so go and explore, don’t be afraid.

Remove negative people from the equation. They add no value and they leave you feeling drained and frustrated. Surround yourself with positive likeminded people who support you, believe in you and lift you up.

Don’t care what other people think. You probably have people in your life that feel the need to tell you why your big idea won’t work or even why it’s a bad idea altogether. If you let the opinions of others affect you, it can really hinder your success and confidence. Keep it in perspective but continue to dream big and reach for the stars.

What are your plans now/for the future?

To give all women confidence, the knowledge, and support to make health their priority. To show women that they can work on their holistic self with their little ones around. To give people that step.

What would you like to share with others to encourage them to start their own entrepreneurship journey?

Know your target audience. Build a support network. Sell by creating value. Get the word out. Practice what you preach. Believe in yourself. Never give up.

Can you share you top tips for entrepreneurial success?

  • Don’t look back. Don’t keep looking back at setbacks, always move on and focus on the future and learn from your mistakes as they are all learning points.
  • Work with people who get it and believe in it.
  • You define the culture of your business. Show up consistently with passion, drive and determination.
  • Make time for networking – you never know who you are going to meet and word of      mouth is the most powerful from of marketing.
  • There is no formula. You have to believe your gut, fail forward and go for it.
  • Never send an angry email, always constructive.
  • Use every opportunity to learn – as they say everyday is a school day!
  • Expect challenges but use them as lessons.
  • Don’t be afraid to ask for help.
  • Look after number one – you. You can’t pour from an empty cup.

What are your favourite inspirational /motivational quotes?

You can’t pour from an empty cup.

You learn more from failure than from success

If you are working on something that you really care about, you don’t have to be pushed.

You’re off to great places, today is your day.

No one is perfect – that’s why pencils have erasers.

Winning doesn’t always mean being first.

You’re braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.

It always seems impossible until it is done.

When you are enthusiastic about what you do, you feel this positive energy. It’s very simple.
